Glebe Island Shipping Activities
In Sydney, GRA manages the bulk handling of gypsum, unloading ships, storage, truck loading and delivery to customers.
The primary function of the terminal is to unload gypsum from ships (arriving at the port approximately every two to four weeks), and to store gypsum temporarily.
At Glebe Island Berth No.7, self-unloading vessels or ships’ cranes unload the gypsum into wharf-side hoppers.
The gypsum is then moved from the hopper to an enclosed storage shed by conveyor.
Gypsum is then dispatched by trucks for transport to GRA’s clients.
